A 23-year-old woman was illegally detained by her parents because they were against and opposed the relationship between their daughter and an MBA student who filed the plea.
On Tuesday the Bombay High Court came to defence to the interfaith couple. And the right of the woman to move as per her wish in a Habeas Corpus Writ petition that was filed in front of them.
The petitioner, the MBA student confessed that they were in a relationship for five years. And the woman admitted the same to the court.
The bench of justice S.S. Shinde and Manish Pitale heard the plea. They noted and confirmed that the woman was of major age. She disclosed that, as she was of major age she should be allowed to live her life as per her wish and without any bounds and that as her parents opposed the interfaith relationship they illegally detained her. She claimed that she and the petitioner were intending to get married.
The court after hearing the plea stated that, as per the wish of the woman, she shall be escorted from the High Court to any destination she desires by a Police officer.
